The united states has awarded a $400 million contract, equivalent to 1.6 billion kina, for the construction of a large fuel storage facility near port moresby harbor in papua new guinea The contract for construction has been awarded to dgci corp., an aerospace and defense company based in mclean, virginia, with the project slated for completion by 2030 at an estimated cost of $400 million. This initiative, managed by the department of defense, will provide storage for over 1.6 million barrels of fuel.
When completed, the facility will store more than 1.6 million barrels (264 million liters) of fuel.
