As posted in the title, anyone know what's happening with guhring.com I think feed per rev is somewhere around.010 for.125 dia. It's been down for over a week, possibly longer since before i first tried to access it

Been wanting to look up some tools from them, but their website won't load at all. It's funny that guhring doesn't list it in their drills for aluminum recommendations but if you look at the feeds and speeds page for the 5514 it recommends 805 sfm,.016/rev for.25 dia. Has anybody any experience of guhring cutting tools from germany
Hi all, listen, i am the first one to say that guhring makes a top notch drill, but i think i may try something else in the near future
We mostly use guhring for hss & powdered metal drills and use garr for carbide drills Anyway, we keep having problems with the recently purchased guhring. Seekins, are you spotting and then entering the spot with the guhring On longer drills that need to be on location, i always spot drill in some manner, and then the first 1/2 or so of the diameter in depth reduce speed and feed.

These tools were touted to be used in solid material and not used as core drills I was doing pretty good with two flute drills so i never picked up any of them So now reflecting back on the three flute drill. Speeds and feeds sound fine
Good luck finding a small enough spot drill Have the guy drill the larger hole with the same geometry guhring of the right size first Guhring drills are worth the money, too bad the three fluters don't come any smaller than 3mm. The guhring shrink fit machine and haimer machine are very comparable and both have several levels, from basic to all the bells and whistles

Simplest machine should be well under $10k (american dollars) Drill feeds/speeds need a good reference never use jobber length drills on a hole that shallow I only use guhring stub length drills, and i never use a centerdrill, and the holes are exactly where the need to be Granted, guhring drills cost a little more, but it is money well spent
I have a job that requires a.125 hole 4 inches deep that has to be straight within.002 and the guhring drill. The guhring 5514 is great in 6061 aluminum
